Summer of ’86. I hear this song, and I go right back. I was getting ready to start my senior year of high school. My big, bright future was still ahead of me. Nothing seemed more important than what we were doing right then in that moment. We couldn’t have pictured a time when our best friends wouldn’t be right there, whether running into them in the hall during school or at the weekend parties. People always ask each other “if you could go back, would you?” Yes. I wouldn’t want to change a thing, though. I’d just want to relive those amazing times when we didn’t have a care in the world. Our biggest problem was if our hair looked okay, or where we’d be hanging out that weekend. If you were in St. Louis, it was The Landing!!
MP, if you ever read this, thank you for making my 80’s what they were. I can’t imagine going through them without you. ♥
