On this day in music in 1983, Def Leppard released “Pyromania,” which was their 3rd album. Phil Collen was the new guitarist for this album. Pete Willis was on some of the songs, but Phil Collen would finish this album and Pete Willis was let go.
“Photograph”, “Rock of Ages” and “Foolin'” became top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, with “Photograph” peaking at No. 13 and “Rock of Ages” at No. 16. “Photograph” and “Rock of Ages” both topped the Billboard Top Rock Tracks, while “Foolin'” and “Too Late for Love” made the Top 10. “Comin’ Under Fire”, “Billy’s Got a Gun” and “Action! Not Words” made the top 40 of the Top Rock Tracks chart. Not a bad song on the album!
This album takes me back to such a great time in my life. Where were you in 1983? I was beginning Freshman year in HS.
I was a Sophomore in high school (I graduated 1985). If I could, I would go back and do high school all over again! It was a great four years for me!
I wasn’t even planned yet in 1983 lol
